716 Candle Co. is an independent, Buffalo-based candle company dedicated to crafting hand-poured, Buffalo-inspired candles – and giving a second life to the cans you already love.
Our Story
We’re Buffalonians through and through. Born and raised in the suburbs of Buffalo, we’ve always had an enormous pride in this city – its people, its culture, and yes, its beer. When we started looking for a way to give back to the community we love, the idea hit close to home: why not upcycle the cans from our favorite local breweries and turn them into something people could enjoy in their own homes?
That’s how 716 Candle Co. was born in 2015. What started as a kitchen-table hobby quickly grew into something much bigger – a small business rooted in Buffalo pride and dedicated to celebrating everything that makes the 716 special.
Handcrafted, the Right Way
Every candle we make is hand-poured right here in a suburb of Buffalo, NY using 100% natural soy wax. We chose soy wax for good reason: it burns cleaner with no black soot, lasts longer than paraffin, and is produced by American farmers. It’s better for your home, better for the environment, and it carries our Buffalo-themed fragrances beautifully.
Our cans come straight from local breweries and brands you know – Flying Bison, Ellicottville Brewing Company, Southern Tier Brewing Company, Genesee, and more. Instead of ending up in recycling bins, they get a second life as a one-of-a-kind candle that smells as good as the original contents tasted.

Because Buffalo isn’t just where we’re from – it’s who we are. The 716 area code is a badge of honor for anyone who’s called this city home. Every candle we make is a small tribute to the neighborhoods, breweries, and community that inspire us every day.
